Hiding

This artwork is a small love letter to a memory tucked deep in my childhood.

I can still see it clearly: a tiny bee flitting from one lush bush to another in our garden, moving with such determined joy.
Back then, before the soil was touched by the mud and soot of a devastating super typhoon, our garden was a sanctuary—green, wild, and alive with blooms.

It was my playground, a secret world where bushes became hiding spots, and the towering trees felt like ancient guardians.

I think it’s a miracle I was never stung, given how often I played among the flowers.

Instead, I was gifted front-row seats to the kind of scene you usually only catch in nature documentaries: a bee burrowing into petals, leaves shivering under its tiny weight.

The way it wiggled and danced, buried deep inside a blossom, was so earnest and funny—like a clumsy little twerk powered by pure happiness.

Those fleeting, golden moments of wonder—the ones you don’t realize are magic until you look back—still stay with me.
