This piece began as a college assignment in my Visual Communication class—one of those exercises that challenges creativity within constraint. The task: create an artwork using only triangles.
At the time, I wasn’t entirely sure what subject to choose. But the idea of a knight surfaced, almost instinctively. Perhaps it was the mental image of a triangular shield—sturdy, symbolic, and timeless—that led me there. Or maybe it was the deeper resonance of what a knight represents: valor, structure, and a sense of noble formality—all concepts that align naturally with the precision of geometric shapes.
And so, this angular warrior was born from sharp lines and pointed intersections.
The final piece depicts a stylized geometric representation of a knight—sword in hand, shield at the ready. Built entirely from triangles, the composition uses a warm, earthy palette to evoke themes of strength, bravery, and silent resolve. It stands as both a memory of a classroom challenge and a quiet homage to the discipline and grace found in both knights and design.
