I remember the trips to the zoo with my grandfather. Among all the animals—each magnificent in its own way—there was one I always wanted to see first: the peacock.
The giraffe, with its graceful neck, was elegant. The elephant, grand and wise. The lion, both fearsome and dignified. But the peacock? The peacock was pure spectacle.
I was mesmerized by its feathers—the way it carried itself with effortless confidence, as if it existed for no other reason than to be admired. At first glance, it was just another bird. But when it spread its plumage, it transformed, revealing a beauty that had been hidden all along.
I think about that often. About how, sometimes, the most striking parts of us remain unseen until the right moment.
I hope to be like that—unfolding into my own brilliance. Someday. I’m working on it.
