From the Artist:
As a child, I used to wonder what it would be like to have a twin.
The thought of having another “me” sounded magical—a built-in playmate, a secret-keeper, someone who would always understand, without a word needing to be spoken.
An endless loop of shared adventures and mirrored laughter.
But as I grew, I began to ask myself:
Would I want a twin to also share my insecurities?
My fears?
My sadness?
Suddenly, the fantasy shifted, and the dream of a twin quietly floated away.
Still, life has a way of giving you what you need, even if it looks a little different.
I found friendships that felt like kinship—souls that, while not identical, shared a similar rhythm, a familiar heart.
Friends who became siblings, not by blood, but by choice.
We don’t agree on everything, of course—what true family ever does?
But in the ways that matter, we are woven from the same fabric:
Shared values.
Kindred perceptions.
Unexpected quirks.
They say you can’t choose the family you’re born into, but you can choose the family you walk through life with.
And that, to me, is a treasure greater than having a mirror image.
This artwork celebrates that feeling:
Two stylized birds, adorned with pink feathers and blue wings, face one another against an abstract geometric backdrop. The symmetrical design, brushed in soft pastel tones with a hint of retro flair, captures the delicate balance between sameness and individuality—a vibrant ode to chosen family and the quiet, beautiful bonds we forge by heart.
